Impaled on the Horns of the War-Denial Dilemma?

The Ds reflexive opposition to anything and everything President Bush does may be impaling them on the horns of a dilemma where the War in Iraq and the War on Terror are concerned. They have two choices in trying to explain their obstructionism: either the War is real or it isn't.

If the Ds admit the War is real, then they have to explain why they are obstructing and hindering it. Further, they have to do so without being able to offer any meaningful alternative strategy. To put it mildly, their actions will appear irrational if they admit the War is real.

On the other hand, if the Ds try to claim the War isn't real, they will have to offer alternative explanations for events such as 9/11, and the bombings in Madrid, London, and elsewhere. The Ds will find that to be a high-speed freeway to conspiracy-theory lunacy and voter rejection.
